Excellent Gift
I bought this for an adult engineer as a gift and he loved it! It's a fun, whimsical gift that is perfect for the analytical mind who wants a light break. Very fun.
Have an engineer for a son and loves puzzles! Part of his morning routine is to complete the NY Times crossword daily--even on Sundays! Got this gift for him and he took a trip to Mexico and said he would begin there. Well, he loved it! Told me it was the only puzzle book he took and he gave it a big thumbs up!! Uncommon Goods hasn't disappointed me yet. Thank you!!!
Got this for my husband for Christmas and it was a great success. Everything needed was in the box and he said the instructions were overall easy to understand. Great project for someone that enjoys tinkering, tech and building things. It was really cool to watch this come together as he built it, I'll definitely buy additional pieces from this brand again for us to build. Overall build time with two kids as a distraction: 2 days.
We got this for our 10-year-old, who had been begging for a kit that would let him play around with different wire configurations. This turned out to be perfect for him. After a few mis-steps where he wasn't paying close attention to which hole to insert the wires into, he figured it out - and he's learning a lot! If he'd been handed all the parts in this kit at once it would have been overwhelming, so he's enjoying the gradual, one-day-at-a-time build-up of difficulty. I will note that this kit would not be appropriate for the average 10-year-old! He's has a laser focus on engineering since he was tiny and was already familiar with the concepts. If you have a future electrical engineer in your life, this is a fantastic advent calendar.
Bought these for my mother in law and she loves them. She's very into small little building projects (like legos and such) and this was a great addition to her repertoire.
My son flew this in our backyard. Despite a windy day he was able to get the plane up as well as control and land it with his phone. Fun for the whole family!
