Can't get the ice out

I bought this ice maker as a surprise gift for my to help celebrate our daughter getting into college. I bought her future college symbol and the first time my husband used it. The ice would not come out of the maker. We tried everything we ran it under hot water. We twisted it. We banged it on the counter. Nothing worked. I have to say this product is useless.

Ice cubes may stick to the mold due to several reasons, including moisture, refreezing cycles, and storage conditions, but we’ve shared your experience with our product team.
