A Sweet Spin

What could be more quaint than a batch of butter you churned yourself? In a world where even bananas can be bought pre-peeled, pretty darn quaint. Packed with a basic butter how-to along with several flavored butter recipes, this butter churner features all the components you need to whip up a fresh addition to your breakfast spread. Pour the whipping cream into the churner, turn the handle, and enjoy a fresh batch of butter. Made in China.

This has been so much fun to use. My grandson and I made butter for breakfast at his last visit. Creating good memories with him is priceless. I have such fond memories of making butter with my grandmother. This churn is so easy to use and makes the perfect amount for a family meal. I have enjoyed this so much that I bought 2 more as gifts for family members! :) I am very happy with this butter churn. ♡

I was looking for a unique 50th birthday gift for a friend who is somewhat a "country cook." He especially loves to bake old fashioned pies, so I thought he would love this. For almost 40 bucks, I expected it to look and feel "substantial." It turned out to feel more like an inexpensive "stocking stuffer" than a stand-alone gift for a special occasion. I was disappointed and embarrassed when he unwrapped. (Because I paid $5 for gift wrapping I hadn't seen it in person until he unwrapped it.) He seemed to like it but it did not make the impression I had intended.

    Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

Since getting the hand-held churn I haven't bought a stick of store butter! Now I use heavy whipping cream (which I've always got on hand anyway) and make as much as we need when we need it (if you set the cream out to get warm before making it only takes about 10 minutes including washing for 2 sticks' worth). I love the satisfaction of making my own basic ingredients and also knowing that for the same price I'm now getting butter as well as buttermilk that I use in breads and cakes. It is much, MUCH easier using the hand churn than the 'shook butter' mason jar method and gives a clean-cut yet vintage flair to our kitchen that makes a great conversation piece. The only thing that would make it better would be if the handle was made of something a little thicker and easier to grip - but then it wouldn't be as cute so I vote leave it as it is.

My mother-in-law wanted to get me something for my birthday that was useful, entertaining and different. She really got it right! I made butter the day I received it and ate it with our lunch. So good and creamy! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to enjoy the way things used to be made.

This makes a great batch of butter and it's fun to use too. If we have friends over for a meal, they always want to make the butter themselves. It makes making a compound butter super easy too!
