A Sweet Spin

What could be more quaint than a batch of butter you churned yourself? In a world where even bananas can be bought pre-peeled, pretty darn quaint. Packed with a basic butter how-to along with several flavored butter recipes, this butter churner features all the components you need to whip up a fresh addition to your breakfast spread. Pour the whipping cream into the churner, turn the handle, and enjoy a fresh batch of butter. Made in China.

This has been so much fun to use. My grandson and I made butter for breakfast at his last visit. Creating good memories with him is priceless. I have such fond memories of making butter with my grandmother. This churn is so easy to use and makes the perfect amount for a family meal. I have enjoyed this so much that I bought 2 more as gifts for family members! :) I am very happy with this butter churn. ♡

I was looking for a unique 50th birthday gift for a friend who is somewhat a "country cook." He especially loves to bake old fashioned pies, so I thought he would love this. For almost 40 bucks, I expected it to look and feel "substantial." It turned out to feel more like an inexpensive "stocking stuffer" than a stand-alone gift for a special occasion. I was disappointed and embarrassed when he unwrapped. (Because I paid $5 for gift wrapping I hadn't seen it in person until he unwrapped it.) He seemed to like it but it did not make the impression I had intended.

      Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

It was taking forever to get any results, and the paddles kept getting slower, regardless of the speed of turning the crank. My grandson was ready to give up. My son-in-law looked at the churned and discovered that the paddles weren't securely attached to the shaft and pushed them in a bit. We had butter within a minute or two and the butter on bread, bagels and toast became lunch for 5 of us!

I intend to make the butter, shape in a fancy mold, and bake goodies to give along with a block of homemade butter. I know it would be a gift I'd love to receive myself.

I originally bought this as a survival-type tool-in case our electricity went out but it turned out to be so cool & a lot of fun! It takes a lot of handle turning (your hand can get tired) but having your kiddos take turns helps with that, plus they think it's the next best thing to put on their sliced bread! :) we were all so proud that we made butter & buttermilk all by ourselves!!
