Brainstrings

Challenge your mind with this knotty little puzzle by Dutch inventor Guido Lap.

$17.00

String Theory

This knotty little puzzle is all about thinking inside the box. The brainchild of Dutch inventor Guido Lap, it uses simple elements to stretch your spatial reasoning to new limits. Elastic bands connect colored buttons on opposite sides of a clear, plastic case. Your challenge is to group the buttons by color, sliding them along the slots cut in the clear plastic, without getting yourself (and the cords inside) all tied up in knots. A great brain-teasing puzzle for older children and adults. Made in China.

Brainstring was developed by Dutch inventor Guido Lap. Guido combined an elegant design with an intellectually challenging concept and it was an instant success in Europe. Inspired by that success, he has worked with various inventors throughout the years to produce smart, unique, artfully-designed puzzles that appeal to puzzle-enthusiasts worldwide.

My husband got this for Christmas from one of the kids and we all fought about who got to play with it first. It's really interesting looking and at first you think it will be super easy to solve, but it took us several days and multiple tries to get it solved the first time around. Very interesting puzzle.

                Comments about UncommonGoods Brainstrings:

I had gifted it to my partner's father for Christmas, and right after taking it out of the wrapping, my partner's mom exclaimed that she loves puzzles. Subsequently, each person who walked by the living room table would pick it up and try to solve the puzzle. A few days later, it became a personal challenge and competition for my partner's mom and brother, where they would challenge each other to solve the puzzle. Only downside was that we noticed a cord that looked like it was detaching from one of the heads after a few plays. Good to buy as a gift for an individual, and it will get picked up by the family! Its unique design makes it hard not to wonder what it is on a tabletop. #sweepstakes
