What Makes It Uncommon

This puzzle has no edges and no boundaries—just endless ways to explore our home planet. Its inspiration comes from the Dymaxion map projection, which was designed to preserve the scale of Earth’s landmasses with minimal distortion. Laser-cut from custom birch plywood in the Catskill Mountains, each of the 441 pieces features flowing, organic lines, 16 of which are whimsically shaped like animals from around the globe. Crafted using custom software and rooted in cartographic innovation, this map breaks free from borders—so you can too.
