I haven't figured out the technique yet

I get it, and simultaneously don't get it. I haven't gotten crazy with recipe experimentation yet, because I'd like to figure it out before wasting a ton of cash on ingredients that may turn into garbage. So far, I haven't really been that successful technique-wise. I will watch more videos and keep trying. A neat little device, especially for me who can't enjoy dairy, yet certainly not as easy to master as advertising makes it seem.

Can you explain how this works? How does the frozen core turn a chilled mixture into a frozen treat without time in the freezer itself?

After the bowl has been frozen, the core holds an extremely low temperature. When you pour your liquid mixture in, that cold surface instantly begins freezing it. To use it, just scrape and stir the mixture along the sides every minute or so. With each scrape, more of the liquid freezes and mixes in, gradually thickening. In about 10 minutes, you’ll have a soft, scoop-able frozen treat!
