What Makes It Uncommon

Poke and prod your way to a lush, pillowy landscape as you learn all about the art of needle felting. A calm and meditative activity, this craft involves matting, layering, and compressing soft, colorful felt into different shapes (also known as painting with it). Maker Elizabeth Whitton knows everyone comes to this art style with a different skill level, so she even includes a link to start-to-finish video instructions that walk you through every step of your new favorite hobby.

  • Choose from 3 different kits: Coastal Waters, Grazing Sheep, or Desert Trail.
  • Kits include start-to-finish video instructions, instruction sheet, two color-coded felting needles, felting wool, linen backing fabric, a 7 wooden hoop, and a foam felting mat—you just need your own scissors and glue to finish the project in the hoop.
  • Craft takes about 3–4 hours to complete, depending on speed.
  • Made in Michigan.

Great Product!

This was something I've wanted to try for a while, and this kit was the perfect introduction. It includes every tool you need to get started, and the video and pictures are helpful. I am thoroughly immersed in the needle felting hobby now, and I'm so glad I started with this beautiful kit! I would definitely buy this as a gift for someone who either wants to try needle felting, or even for someone who is already into the hobby. You'll get some leftover wool out of it, and it's a very beautiful project.
