“I started out from my garage. As the business grew, and my wife’s and neighbors' patience stretched, it was time to move to an industrial space. There I can bang and grind at all hours of the night. It's 1,000 square feet of pure metalworking nirvana.”
Chris Crooks took a winding road to get to where he is now—creating imaginative lawn sculptures inspired by the Southwest landscape he calls home. After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Chris worked in advertising, then ran a printing business with his wife, while painting during his free time. It was when the couple moved to Tucson that Chris collaborated with a metal art manufacturer and fell in love with the art form. He now designs and creates sculptures in his studio at the foot of the Santa Rita Mountains. "I always wanted to make a living doing something genuinely enjoyable," he says. "To get up in the morning raring to go, and never having enough time to do everything you want to do."

Just perfect
Love this garden feature! Gave it to my boyfriend who has always joked about waiting for dinosaurs to show up in his yard because he has so many plants. When I saw this I knew it was perfect. And it's a great talking piece when we have company over!

Best Father's Day gift!!
This brontosaurus was the hit of Father's Day! Such a unique gift for my hubby of 36 years and best dad of our 3 grown kids. Our grandkids love it! Well packed, sturdy and only had to easily attach the tail. Might buy the smaller one for his birthday.

Love this sculpture in my garden.
This definitely makes my neighbors stop and take a closer look. I've received several texts letting me know I have a dinosaur in my yard. Truly a conversation starter. Plan to add to my own Jurassic Park with the other dinos in the collection. Sturdy and sets up easily!!

Adorable and smaller size is big enough!

Do they require any maintenance, as I've had them for two years now. Should they be cleaned at all?

Your sculpture does not need to be cleaned. You may see a nice patina by now. If you'd like the to keep it as is, you can spray it with a clear coat. That can be found at any hardware store.

The large size faces right and the standard size faces left, correct? To get the same as advertised pics, I buy both sizes and I will receive right and left? I worry that I will receive the same facing dinos in two different sizes. According to the pic the tail attached to the back side so it has to be right and left facing.

Yes, we confirmed with the artist directly and you are exactly right! The large faces right, and the standard faces left.

These metal sculptures are made to withstand typical weather conditions, but we would recommend taking extra caution with them during heavier weather conditions, such as strong winds.
