  • Michelle uses a traditional murrine glassmaking technique to create the glowing hearts, cutting canes of brilliantly colored molten glass into fine slices, arranging them in intricate patterns within a mold, and then firing the piece in her kiln to seal the design.
  • A black steel figure hugs the heart and serves as a solid display stand. Choose an adorable seated character paired with a heart full of flowers, or a romantic kneeling one whose floral heart also includes a sweet butterfly.
  • Each sculpture is just the right size to display on a shelf, windowsill, or desk, where it will be a delightful daily reminder of the joy shared between friends and loved ones.
  • Handmade in California.

For California-based artists Ross and Michelle Sherer, glassmaking is a healing art. Michelle took it up after husband Ross gifted her with a kiln while she was grieving a personal tragedy, and she soon saw parallels between the craft and the stages of grief. "When glass undergoes extreme heat, it comes out more beautiful. Through pain and love, we become a work of art." Ross welds and paints each metal stand for Michelle?s pieces. ?They present how I feel?joy from one person to another.?
