So Long, Jelly

If you've ever caught yourself thinking "wow, peanut butter just couldn't get any better" while liberally spreading it over some perfectly warmed bread, you're dead wrong, my friend. Add chocolate chips, pretzels, toffee, popcorn, white chocolate, and more to the mix and you've got the type of peanut butter kid and adult dreams were made of. Made from honey roasted peanuts, this small batch assortment offers a crunchy/smooth texture hybrid that's chock full of sweet and salty additions. Spread on fresh bread, dip with apples, or just enjoy with a spoon—we'll be doing the same. Handmade by Jon Weed in Zionsville, Indiana.

Sampler Includes:
Happy Trails Mix: Flaxseed, chocolate chips, raisins, split peanuts

White Chocolate Pretzel: Pretzel pieces, white chocolate chips

Snickerdoodle: Snickerdoodle popcorn

Chocolate Toffee: Milk chocolate, bits of toffee, rice crispies

Keep Smunchy: Honey roasted peanuts

Chocolate Coconut: Dark chocolate, shredded coconut, almonds

“I love to envision people sitting on their couch, watching their favorite TV show, eating a jar of [our] peanut butter with a spoon and thinking they are in their happy place.”

Many culinary empires begin with a recipe. Jon Weed’s began with a lesson–his artisanal peanut butter company was born in an effort to teach his children about running a small business. The endeavor, which he jokingly terms “a lemonade stand on steroids,” has turned into an education for the entire family as the brand has expanded to retailers well beyond the weekend farmer’s market the Weeds originally targeted. What sets the product apart: ingredients from popcorn to pretzels to raisins that make the concoctions good enough to eat straight out of the jar.

“I love to envision that there are people sitting on their couch, watching their favorite TV show, eating a jar of [our peanut butter] with a spoon and thinking that they are in their happy place,” Jon says.

I purchased this gift twice, once for my sister and once for my nephew. I spoke with my niece after Christmas, and she said my nephew and their daughter were just eating it out of the jar with a spoon. They all said they loved the taste. My sister said it is a bit thick to spread on bread, but she enjoyed just eating it as well. Maybe it would go better with a thick bagel or some very hearty bread? I loved the idea that this is a family business that the mom and dad do with their kids to teach them about business!

Peanut oil leaked everywhere.

When this package arrived it was bathed in peanut oil. Non of the lids of the jars were tight. They leaked all over inside the box and seeped out of the box.

Comments about UncommonGoods Peanut Butter Sampler:

They taste really good and would get 5 stars if the price was a little more reasonable. Nice variety with unusual flavors that are so good you do not want to put them on a cracker but eat them straight. I keep them in the fridge so they last longer and stay fresh.

Comments about UncommonGoods Peanut Butter Sampler:

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend who absolutely loves peanut butter and eats it with a spoon more often than actually spreading it on bread. She was extremely happy with this gift and although she was skeptical of some of the flavors she ended up loving them all. Will definitely buy again!

I was looking for a last minute gift to ship off to a good friend. She loves peanut butter (has been known for eating straight out of the jar), so when I saw this I thought she would love it. She did! Called me that day eating spoonfuls, asking how in the world I found such an awesome gift. Would definitely buy again!

Absolutely delicious. Bought for hubby for Christmas and they are so good. Everything I can do to keep out of his gift. Some a small amount of each jar on a cracker and you are good to go. We got the sweet version and they are good. Can't go wrong with this gift.

I received this as a gift from my husband, who was as excited to give it as I was to get it. Each peanut butter was delicious. The pretzel one in particular was out of this world! I could eat that every day for the rest of my life. I did, indeed, eat them with a spoon. A bit thick to spread, so I just ate a bagel along with some of them.
