A whole lot of heart is poured into Kerry Brooks' home-inspired candles, each one celebrating the essence of a beloved state. Topped with a custom scent that reflects the local landscape—think blooming orchards, seaside breezes, or cozy mountain cabins—these candles are all about bringing that sense of "ahh, I'm home" to wherever you are. Each vessel is wheel-thrown and features a clay medallion in the shape of the state it honors. The clever twist? That textured medallion isn't just decorative—it doubles as a strike-anywhere match surface. After the candle's clean, long burn, the ceramic container lives on as a planter, catch-all, or keepsake from your corner of the country.

Potter Kerry Brooks was heading towards a PhD in American Cultures from the University of Michigan before she decided to move to Ann Arbor and train in ceramics instead, from 1988 to 1992. The next year, she moved to Minneapolis, and co-founded a four-person pottery collective the year after that. The other three potters eventually moved on, so she's run the business herself for the last 15 years. As an employer (currently of 45 people) and gallery host, she has influenced the next generation of Minnesota clay artists, and many of her employees are artists in their own right. Pottery remains Kerry's passion, but she loves to travel and sing when she's not running her business, doing philanthropic work, or raising her daughter.

Care

Trim wick to 1/8" (3mm) before lighting. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from drafts, pets and children. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not tilt candle to write on it while lit or if the wax is melted.
