Perros de Peru

These hand-stitched dogs bark up the right tree--your Christmas tree! Each cuddly, palm-sized hound, retriever, pug, bulldog, and more yips to life with the needlework of fair trade artisans working out of the southern Highlands of Peru, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The women who knit the ornaments come from an agricultural community where they're normally engaged in farming activities. These lovable puppies provide the talented artisans with additional income and allow them to carry on traditional needlecrafting techniques to the next generation. Handmade in Peru.

Comments about UncommonGoods Hand Knit Dog Ornaments:

I bought 2 if these - one for my sister and one for my daughter. They are very cute & nicely made. I thought about getting them last year because I thought they were a bit pricey, but didn't find anything else as nice. This year when I saw them again, I ordered right away.

Comments about UncommonGoods Hand Knit Dog Ornaments:

This is such a cute addition to our chocolate Lab ornaments, and definitely the only knit one I've ever seen. The company isn't called Uncommon Goods for nothing! And while it's good that it's a fair trade item, that made it pretty pricey. I would never have bought it if I weren't spending a gift certificate.

Comments about UncommonGoods Hand Knit Dog Ornaments:

I bought this item as part of my mom's Christmas to celebrate her new dachshund puppy. It's not the exact replica of a dachshund in person (the nose needs to be a bit longer), but it is well made -- and durable (I had to hide it from my cat, who thought it was a toy).

This is a Dachshund Lovers must have item. It is well made and looks just like a standard short haired red Dachshund. It is worth the price.

Each year, my husband and I exchange Christmas ornaments. Our selections are always somehow reflective of the last year we've spent together. This year, we got a chocolate Goldendoodle puppy. The second I saw this ornament, I knew it was the perfect ornament for me to give this year. It's small but adorable. Handmade and just perfect. You won't be disappointed!
