The Experience

For centuries, we’ve turned to the mystical tarot with questions about what the future has in store—so what better way to celebrate a birthday than with a glimpse into the next 12 months? Make the most of your big day by joining tarot mentor Holly Buczek to learn how to do a customized reading for your birthday and the 364 days yet to come. Although this class is not a private reading, it will be an intimate experience in which every participant will have the benefit of Holly’s personal attention, experience, and wisdom.

  • Holly will start the class with an introduction to the cards and an intuitive, astrology-based exercise that will be especially important for people who are new to tarot.
  • Next, you'll calculate your Major Arcana Personality Card, which represents who you are in this lifetime and reveals your major strengths and the lessons you’re here to learn.
  • Finally, you’ll do a Birthday Cake spread designed by Holly that will end with a meditation for manifesting a secret wish in the 12 months ahead—a beautiful and hopeful beginning to a remarkable new year of life.
Class length: 60 minutes.
Comes with the class: Exquisitely illustrated by artist Trung Le Nguyen, the Star Spinner Tarot Deck features a gorgeous diversity of imagery and romantic expression inspired by multicultural myths, legends, and folklore. Important note: Please do not open the deck until Holly tells you to in class (she'll explain why).

About

Holly Buczek grew up in New Jersey, but, she says, "I have always had a love affair with NYC." Like many who come to the Big Apple, she aimed for a career in show business. She graduated in performing arts from NYU, worked as an entertainer, then became a theater casting director--while giving tarot readings for individuals, parties, and corporate events. (As she points out, "connecting deeply with human energy and intuition is an asset in either field.") Holly's been reading tarot for 20 years and says, "I love every second of it."

For this class, you'll need the included Star Spinner Tarot Deck, a notebook and pen, and an optional candle.
