"As long as I can remember, I loved spending time on our family boat and exploring the shore with my four sisters," Whitney says. "Once I discovered I loved making art with resin, my creative brain went right back to the beach." Better than pictured
Gift for my mom for birth-mothers-anniversary-days. She tends to have all 3 of these events within a 10 day period every year. She's always looking for nice decor items to hang, and this fit the bill nicely. The detail and realism of the surf and waves is excellent. It's a lightweight piece but sturdy enough. Very happy with the purchase, and mom loved it.

Great idea
I love the look of the product and it's a really cool idea. The colors are just as you'd expect from the listing. However, the one we received had two places where there were imperfections in the surface. Fortunately, they're not very noticeable, but if you're up close or looking at a certain angle they're visible. Unfortunate for something that is otherwise very cool and that we'd like to have for a long time. Perhaps the artist was rushing in the leadup to the holidays and just didn't notice the problem.

The measurements say that the piece is 14" at its longest dimension. Does that refer to the size of the Big Island alone, or is it 14" from the east side of the Big Island to the west side of Niʻihau?

Including all of the islands, Hawaii measures 14 inches. Then you can spread them apart as you'd prefer!

While resin pieces are waterproof and heat resistant, direct UV rays and long term direct heat exposure may cause the resin to take on an amber tint over time.
