Tall Corn Tale

Hypothesis: Popcorn kernels learn popcorn protocol from the cob. It is, after all, connected to the stalk, and therefore the roots, surely—surely!—have a direct line to the ancient maize wisdom of the seeds. Ergo: Kernels that have spent the most time on the cob being taught the traditions of their Central American ancestors will pop and taste the best. Conclusion: These kernels don't leave the cob until they're popped, making them the most well-behaved and deliciously corny-tasting popcorn kernels in existence. Butter or salt the cob, place it in one of the included paper bags, fold it closed, place in the microwave, and pop like any other popcorn. 10 cobs included. Grown in Indiana.

Josh Pottschmidt and Adam Bechtel met and became good friends while attending Purdue University. After graduation, Adam started his own business while Josh began a career in the agriculture industry and purchased a farm in Southern Indiana. Looking for something to set his farm apart from all the rest in the area, Josh began growing popcorn and soon made a momentous discovery: that he could actually pop the popcorn right off of the cob. He mentioned his findings to his entrepreneurial pal, and the duo went into business together, harvesting, packaging, and selling their unique product. Their passion and excitement for their farm business continues to grow, right along with the stalks of beautiful corn.

The corn is real. The old school lunch bags are real. You get corn cobs that are previously dried. My dad took an intermission in gift opening in order to immediately throw one of these in the microwave and it made a good REAL bag of popcorn! I will say there was a little bit of that familiar burnt popcorn smell but I think that was mainly the cob and not the kernels as it tasted just fine. A winning novelty!

Burnt corn

Clever idea and unique gift opportunity. BUT Directions need some mprovement. My microwave is 1100 so fairly standard. Will try again at one minute to see. Otherwise, the squirrels will enjoy.
