What Makes It Uncommon

Mars or Dust

A modern twist on a classic snow globe, this beauty will awaken the adventurer in anyone who shakes it. When the dust clears, you’ll see the planet view of Mars, with detailed topography of Valles Marineris and Olympus Mons on one side, and an adult and child astronaut on the other. It’s a hopeful symbol of a future where our ability to explore will know no bounds. Designed by Dan Abramson . Made in China.

I knew then I had a responsibility to do this well and do it right.

Toy inventor Dan Abramson has taken an interesting approach towards promoting the practice of yoga. He’s created Yoga Joes, which are classic green plastic army men who’ve traded their guns in for yoga poses. Abramson made Yoga Joes because he thought it would be a fun way to get more people into yoga. Beyond that, he wanted to make a violent toy become peaceful.

Beautiful globe!

This was an amazing gift for anyone who loves space! The way the sand moves in the globe is mesmerizing and lasts much longer than a traditional snow globe. 10/10 would recommend!

Great Geek Gift

I got this for my husband and he loved it. Our kids think it is very cool, too.

Great Gift

This was a gift for my brother, a huge Mars fan and recently new father. This was the perfect item, I didn't know I was looking for!

Very good quality

Great quality and packaged very well. My boyfriend always calls me Mars because of my initials so this was the perfect Christmas present for his office.

Great gift!

My adult son loves this gift. The original item arrived shattered even though it was well packaged, just a fluke. Customer service was excellent and the rep stated that this globe was awesome and he may buy one too.

Great gift for the stargazer in your life

Bought this for a lifelong geek who's a huge fan of the Martian. You might not be able to grow potatoes in this soil, but you can grow a sense of wonder as you look at it ;)

I would buy again for someone interested in space.

It is displayed on a shelf for safety. My husband loves the swirling effect of the space dust; it looks like a snow globe, but it's different. The back shows the large gash across the back of Mars, which we didn't know existed. It's definitely interesting and enjoyable to watch.

A unique gift

When you shake it, the dust storm lasts for ages which is better than a normal snow globe

10/10 would recommend

My husband has a shelf of collectible items, after he showed it off to his friends he proudly displayed the globe up with his other items :)

This was in honor of my Grandson

I bought this in honor of my Grandson. His name was Mars. I like to think that's him and I walking together.

Does the dust automatically swirl— requiring a battery?

Verified reply from Leslie

No batteries required! Simply shake the globe to create a dust storm and reveal the astronauts.

Is the base detachable?

Verified reply from Amy

No, it is not detachable.

Is it really mars dust

Verified reply from Amy

Maybe one day! But no, this globe is meticulously crafted with art dust to achieve a beautiful swirl - as close to the real thing as is possible to achieve from our Earthly home!

Is the base of this globe plastic? Thanks in advance

Verified reply from Allison

The base is plastic and painted with metallic paint. It's engraved with the word “MARS”.
