Is There a Doctor in the House?

It's what's inside that counts, and this adorable character proves it! Zipped inside Erwin's tummy, tiny surgeons will find six essential organs: lungs, heart, intestines, liver, spleen, and kidneys. All of the plush organs are color-coded, and children will have a blast identifying each one in the accompanying booklet and learning more about it's very important role in our bodies. Underneath it all, an embroidered posterior skeleton teaches kids about how our bones keep everything together. Smart and surprisingly sweet, this little patient is the perfect toy to pique the interest of your pre-pre-med student, and it can also help a brave kiddo get through a tough surgery. Made in China.

I'm a doctor and was excited to gift this to a niece who is very interested in what I do. Extremely disappointed to receive a very cheaply packaged product all written in German. Am I the only one? Surely, the prior reviewers who talk about an instruction book didn't have to learn another language....

            Comments about UncommonGoods Little Patient:

Gave as gifts to med students. They both enjoyed much as a male/female duet to receive aspirational dolls that I relabeled with their names and MD.
They are also cat owners and I thought the organs made a cute cat toy, though gothic and maudllin a la Edgar Allan Poe.

            Service and delivery comments:

Received quickly. Didn't notice till after I gave the gift that the Rosi doll was packaged with Erwin labeling, but the recipients were none the wiser.

                  Comments about UncommonGoods Little Patient:

I bought this for our exceptionally smart (I know. Everyone thinks that about their own grandchildren.) and precocious granddaughter. We took it to her and she played with it all weekend - not exclusively - but many times throughout the weekend we were there. She picked up on the body parts immediately and knew how they came out - if not how they go back in. But she's two! She'll get it. We even named her "Ernestine"!

I wish I could give it a 4 & 1/2 star rating. I would have given it a five-star rating but IMO the body cavity is little too tight to get all the parts back in. We had some trouble with the zipper as well.

                  Service and delivery comments:

                  More promptly than I expected.
