Scott Porter and Jake Jones

With diverse careers that include work in healthcare, banking, and public relations, neither Scott Porter nor Jake Jones seemed destined to become a churro artisan and entrepreneur. But both came by the joy of churros naturally—Scott, while working as an intern in Mexico City, and Jake, growing up in Southern California, where the sweet smell of fried dough wafts from beachside food trucks. Scott founded his Utah-based business in 2016 to host custom churro-making events (over 7,000 so far), and the 2020 pandemic led to the creation of a DIY churro kit that re-creates the fun of a churro-making event at home. "We want you to live your best churro life," says Scott.
