What Makes It Uncommon

With some species dating back to the time of the dinosaurs, turtles are often seen as symbols of patience, wisdom, longevity, and stability. Inspired by these enduring creatures, the Holly Yashi design team used their form to create dazzling, iridescent pendants and earrings. Handcrafted of hypoallergenic niobium, each piece is then anodized (shocked by electricity in a waterbath), creating vibrant, durable colors without using dyes or coatings.

Pendant includes 20" gold-plated brass chain.
Earring wire is gold-plated sterling silver.
Earrings and necklace sold separately.
Handmade in California.

Holly Hosterman was a trained jewelry artist and metalsmith fresh out of college and working three jobs. Paul "Yashi" Lubitz was a high-energy guy with tons of business ideas, but had never had a "real" job. They knew they wanted to work together, and they started their own jewelry company in a one-car garage, hand-cutting animal-shaped earrings out of brass and silver. They now have a 50-person crew in a studio nestled in the small town of Arcata, in the heart of California's redwoods.
