Colina Bruce is a Seattle-born maker, mom, and former nonprofit leader who began crafting candles as self-care during the pandemic. Raised in the city's historic Central District, her work is rooted in community, legacy, and creativity. What started as a kitchen-counter hobby led to a thriving business venture that included opening the first Black-owned candle bar in Washington state. Today, Colina hand-pours each candle with soy wax, wooden wicks, and thoughtfully layered scents that spark calm, comfort, and connection. Inspired by her late mother, her children, and her vibrant team, she pours with purpose, sharing light in every sense of the word.

Care

Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn This helps create a steady flame, prevents soot, and avoids overheating the container. For wooden wicks, use a wick trimmer or gently snap off the charred wood before lighting. Allow the wax to melt to the edges on the first burn Burn your candle for 2–4 hours the first time to allow a full melt pool. This prevents tunneling and promotes an even burn for the life of the candle. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time
