Loree Sandler studied Economics at Vassar College and earned a Master's in Architecture from the University of Illinois. She worked in finance for many years, but discovered her real passion on her son's twelfth birthday. She'd whipped up a beautiful cake with homemade icing, and the grocery store wax candles dripped all over it. Loree thought: I can do better than that. So, she signed up for classes at Chicago's French Pastry school and the Chocolate Academy (yes, that's a real thing). After lots of late-night testing and baking, she invented her one-of-a-kind dark and milk chocolate candles. Today, she runs a small business making those same delectable, edible designs so that no one's birthday cake gets waxy again.
