“When you relinquish the tools you take for granted ... you have to stretch and find new tools to suit the new situation. Sometimes it's scary, sometimes it's awkward, often it's funny, nearly always it's a great investment.”
While studying fashion at New York's Parsons School of Design, Jill Davis became curious about other art forms, and the first time she saw molten glass, her search was over. "Glass is the most challenging and rewarding material," she explains. "You can't bully it - you are perpetually persuading the glass into shape. Even master glassblowers cannot always get the glass to do what they want. It's this feisty streak that keeps me enchanted." Jill's solar-powered studio is based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Gorgeous orb, part 2
To follow up on what I wrote earlier, I also want everyone to know how well packaged the wishing ball was. It was wrapped so well and there was absolutely no way it could jostled around and be broken. (We have all had those breakables shipped loose in a box before—😳🤪) Grateful to Uncommon Goods and excited to see her reaction! #sweepstakes

Gorgeous Orb
I bought this as a gift from my dad to my mom for Christmas. Ironically, she had just mentioned a few days earlier that she had seen something about writing what you are grateful for every day. When I saw this ball, I knew it would be a perfect place for her to do just that. My dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia a few years ago. While we are so grateful that we still have him with us, it has been a slow decline that has caused my mom especially some sadness. I think she will be thrilled to open this beautiful ball that she can intentionally fill with things she is grateful for. I can't speak to what she thinks of it, but I did open the package and was thrilled with the quality and heft. It's not too heavy, but it is definitely not thin and fragile. The red color is bright, and I believe she will love it!

Beautiful!
I received this a few years back and love it. I love it so much I bought one for a very good friend in November for her 60th birthday. The November colors are her favorite. It is quite the conversational piece.

There's no spoiler here! The item box is plain. The interior has a removable artist's card with the birthday month information.

The February wishing ball is a mix of purple and pink. You may also find the images of the balls here: https://www.uncommongoods.com/pdf/26446_alt.pdf. Because this is a pre-made item it cannot be customized.

Is it possible to have these made with a larger opening so that you can remove the notes? I wanted to use this for bridal or baby shower wishes? Guests would write notes on the papers and the couple/parents would have a keepsake to read later.

Is it possible to have the instructions not be for a birthday but for Christmas and still give the colored birthstone balls but the information that is on the Wishing Ball?

While we can't edit the instructions, if you were feeling creative, you could create your own instructions to add to the wishing ball!

Thank you for your detailed questions. The included strips of paper are 1" W x 3" L, although they do have printing on the back, that state 'Thanks' and 'Wishes'.
