Cool, Calm and Collected

Calming as the sky on a long winter's night, this sand window offers the weary eye an ever-changing view. Multicolored sand and water are sealed in a wooden frame, with the northern lights in a midnight sky printed behind them. Rotate the glass, and enjoy the sight of the sand swirling and shifting into clouds and landscapes, glaciers and mountains of intricate lines and patterns. The included rear mounting hardware allows you to rotate the frame a full 360 degrees. Created by Klaus Bosch and handmade in Austria, this inventive artwork will bring a calming, natural presence and a sense of wonder to your office or home. The pictures online were breathtaking. The descritions of how it worked made it seem like a lovely, unique, and eye-soothing gift for my husband. However, there is very little blue in my painting...mostly grays and browns. It is actually a bit depressing to look at. I would not buy anything from this artist again, because he seems to have trouble maintaining quality in his art.

Comments about UncommonGoods Aurora Borealis Sand Art:

I gave it to the person as a birthday gift. Keep in mind that I was shopping for someone who could and does purchase anything they want on their own accord. I knew I needed to find something that he would unlikely have and something that would peak his interest. I found both of those in this one art piece. It's perfect because of the design and how it works and the color scheme can't be beat.

Just a tip though, if you're giving it as a gift, it's worth it to open the box and check everything. It also helps if you put just the right amount of air prior to wrapping and giving the gift, this way the receiver and start enjoying it immediately!

    Beautiful!

Comments about UncommonGoods Aurora Borealis Sand Art:

More beautiful than the picture. Loved how the blue glitter sparkled. Makes different designs each time. Amazing how it actually creates 3D images. Shades in the right spots to make shadows in the scenes. You have to adjust the air in the picture but after a good level of air i just sat and watched the sand fall. Did not want to take my eyes off it just to see the next design. Made a wonderful gift.

Truly can't stop looking at this. At first, I thought "sand art - come on" But my husband had a little cheapy sand art he liked to look at on his desk to relax. And he broke it. So I bought him this for christmas. Can't tell you how mesmerizing it is - no one who sees it can stop watching it. So beautiful and cool.
