She throws each one on her wheel, then hand carves each animal, giving them fantastic detail and texture. Dreaming of sipping coffee before going on safari? We just found your new favorite thing. For every mug sold, we'll donate $5 to Re:wild, an organization focused on protecting and restoring the wild to build a thriving Earth where all life flourishes.

"I tend to make things I like, things I'd like to have around me," says ceramist JoAnn Stratakos. Once the concept is in place, she uses her knowledge and expertise to guide each piece. In her Pocono Mountain studio, she creates one-of-a-kind glazes, giving her designs subtle variations and unique characteristics. The color and shapes are designed to complement, not compete. It's the impressive shapes and functionality that makes JoAnn's items truly special.
