Diana Camera

The classic Diana Camera produces dreamy images that give ordinary shots an artistic edge.

$49.00

Picture Imperfect

A cult classic in the art world, the Diana camera produces images that are soft and dreamy with super-saturated colors, unpredictable blurring and random contrast. A grittier alternative to the digital camera, the Diana infuses unexpected meaning, wonderful imperfections and an artistic edge into what might just be an ordinary shot.

You'll be able to shoot incredible images with multiple exposures, overlapping frames, nighttime exposures and light leaks. It even has a panoramic and pinhole feature. Each camera is accompanied by an instructional booklet and hardcover book, Diana: True Tales and Short Stories, which explores the history and uses of the camera and includes interviews and photos. Uses 120 film. Made in China.

I recieved my Diana+ just a week ago and I've already devoured three roles of film. The Diana+ has captured my heart! I never wanted to bring previous cameras along with me because they forced me to spend time taking pictures of memories instead of experiencing the actual memories. With the Diana+ there is no hassle, no setup and no reason not to photograph everything that passes through my corner of the world. What's more, the unpredictable nature of the plastic lens ensures a variety of dreamy efffects will occur on my exposures, turning each into a work of art. Its perfect for those who seek different interpretations of reality... or just groovy photos! I have only one complaint: I dislike waiting to recieve my processed exposures!
But in a universe of instant gratification, it does the soul good to practice patience.

I use this camera to take pictures of my daughter, self, and husband. While I knew the film would be hard to find and processing labs few and far between, I still purchased the camera because I love the type of photos produced. I bought the additional pack of lens, but coudn't remove the original lens that came on it. My husband also tried with no luck. SO I guess, there are some defects...either the lens is not attached or too attached.

This is a great gift for that creative person in your' life. It is unique and yet carries with it a history, beautifully illustrated in the hard bound book that comes with the camera. Yes, the camera is light and feels like a toy, thats because it IS! A toy for the creative soul! Note: The 120 film for this camera is widely available online.

                Comments about UncommonGoods Diana Camera:

This is a very cool camera, but I do not know much about photography so having to deal with all the different methods that are required to capture a good picture is a little overwhelming. This camera also requires that you have a tripod in order to capture good pictures when the light quality isnt so great because you have to hold the exposure lens open for a while. I've had a lot of fun taking pictures, but I can only take the pictures when it is really bright outside because I do not have a tripod so the pictures have to be quick. People like looking at the camera because of it's fun design, so it is a good conversation started too.
I totally recommend reading the manual before using the camera in order to get the best quality pictures for those who are not photography experts.
