The viewer looks and works as expected. However, for the price I was hoping for something better. The packaging and materials make it seem like a dime store novelty. If it came with a display box it might be a better gift for adults.

I didn't realize the item was for the actual view finder and then you get a code to make the reel. I wish I researched a bit more- I only wanted the reels as I already had a view finder. I could have just gone to the website for the reels and spent less money and gotten more than just 1 reel with 7 images. No biggie. Went to the website for the reel and it was very easy to upload the photos and add text. However, the center image is dark- you can't even see it. On other reels for the view master the center image is on white background so you can actually see the photo. This one is made just like the other photos, except there is no way to see it, even holding it up to the light. They don't provide a tracking number once the reel is completed.
