Care
Hand wash with a mild dishwashing soap, rinse, and dry immediately. Cast iron is porous, do not allow to soak. Do not wash in the dishwasher. Periodically apply a small amount of vegetable oil to surface.

Cast iron potato baker
It works well and is made well. Since it didn't come with instructions, I had to guess how long to cook them which entailed checking on the potatoes often as they cooked.

Potatoes to get together for
I've got one of those dads that well, "doesn't need anything." Picture this: Me--tired school teacher with no time to shop for gifts. Dad-- just moved far away and now requires shipped gifts when I can't make the flight. I ordered this potato baker for my dad for his birthday thinking I'd get a thank you for thinking of me. But what I got was much more. Dad sent me text after text after using the baker on the grill. The most creative my dad has ever been in text: "This thingymajig has the potato skins kissed gold! Perfect bake!" Sure enough, a few days later, I made the trip to go see Dad and the potatoes from homefry heaven. Every creamy and crisp bite was like eating from a five-star restaurant. (And the company wasn't all that bad either!)

I would buy this product again.
I bought this as a gift. I was told that it is amazing. He has a variety of cast iron products and has never seen this item before. He cooks on the grill frequently and was grateful to have a product that will have multiple uses.

Doesn't do the job
It might be good for a camp fire, but worthless in the oven. Followed instruction, preheated oven to 400. Checked it at the recommended time, 45 minutes and not done, at 55 minutes it was still rock hard and I gave up. At that time and temperature, it would have been done properly just on the rack. My wife suggested to clean it, put it back in the box and drop it off at a local charity. Why disappoint needy people, it's going in the garbage.

Bake Potato Baker was a big Hit as a gift!
We gave this Potato Baker as a gift to our son in law for Christmas. It was a huge hit. He is the main griller in the house and anxious to try it once it stops snowing here in Massachusetts! It's a well made, great looking baker of cast iron. Will last for years. We are so pleased with this purchase - extremely good quality. It made a great gift. I would say this is a "manly" gift, not that a woman wouldn't enjoy it but being of cast iron it is pretty heffty. Great looking present.

Easiest Way to Make Baked Potatoes
I bought this for my husband (the BBQ dude) for Christmas. He loves baked potatoes and I just can't be bothered to make them. This little potato roaster is perfect for him. He sets it up on the barbecue and by the time he's finished cooking the steaks, the potatoes are ready. Doing them on the BBQ gives them a nice smokey flavour too. Win-win!

Hello! Sweet potatoes sound like a delicious idea, the inner dimensions 11.5" x 3.25" x 3.5", so it should accommodate medium sized sweet potatoes, larger sweet potatoes might be a tighter fit.
