Don’t let the name fool you—simple syrups lend complex notes of flavor to mixed drinks if, that is, you know how to use them. Spend 90 minutes with pro bartender Kat Olson and learn how to make three craft cocktails with our Flavored Simple Syrup Set: a Cucumber Chili Margarita, a Left Hand, and a Choose Your Own Adventure between a Grapefruit Basil Gimlet or a Pear Rosemary Daiquiri. A spirited treat for yourself or to gift to a favorite home bartender, this class requires no special equipment (but feel free to bring your own cocktail tools if you've got 'em).

Experiences make great gifts! To gift this class, simply purchase the class for the date/time you think will work for your recipient. If that doesn’t work for the recipient, no worries! Send an email that includes your order confirmation number to help@uncommongoods.com at least 48-hours prior and we’ll help get them moved into a scheduled class that works better for them. Please note: By default, order confirmations and event details are sent to the purchaser’s email. About

Kat Olson grew up coast to coast, in California, Colorado, and North Carolina. After earning her BFA in Acting at UNC Greensboro, she relocated one more time to New York City. That's where her theatrical talent and lifelong love of socializing made her a natural as a bartender at hip Manhattan watering holes. A self-taught mixologist herself, Kat believes that anyone can learn to mix drinks like a pro. "I never imply that I have a skill that's unattainable," she says. "I will teach all of my tricks."

Great class- useful for even experienced home bartenders

Class was very helpful, including discussions, explanations, and recommendations for home bar tools. There were ample discussions of variations of the cocktails to suit your own taste, including non-alcoholic variations. We have a fair bit of experience with home cocktails but still got a number of useful pointers. Would highly recommend. Based on this, we plant to try out some of the other cocktail class experiences

Fun class and great cocktail syrups

This was a fun, engaging Zoom class. We really enjoyed the Root 23 cocktail syrups that came for use with the class. Lots of personalization options were made by the instructor who is an experienced NYC bartender. We learned a lot, enjoyed our cocktails, and plan to make further Cocktails based off what we learned. We received this as a gift and would recommend it to anybody.

A great class for all experience levels

I bought this class for my husband as a Christmas gift. He's fairly experienced with making cocktails at home but we still learned a lot of great stuff. Kat was an incredibly engaging instructor and had lots of fun tidbits to share throughout class. All the drinks were delicious but Kat was checking in with people throughout class and offering ways to modify the drinks if they weren't quite to someone's taste. This was a really fun way to spend a Saturday night and a unique gift. We will definitely be back for more!

Amy is very upbeat, knowledgeable, and quite skilled at presenting great information! We were surprised at how tasty the drinks were (had some slight skepticism about one in particular and then loved it)! Highly recommend for a fun evening in!

Fun, easy, and interesting!

Amy was awesome! It's clear she knows her stuff but she shared everything so that it was easily digestible. She was a ton of fun to learn from and chat with. We really enjoyed this class and are excited to continue using our Root23 syrups!

This class is fun for all experience levels but is designed to accommodate beginners. Some instruction may be easy if you're experienced, but we find that even experienced home bartenders can learn something new!
