Fun Is Coming

Your smartphone already sits on the table while you're out to brunch, it lays next to you on the couch while you watch reruns and scroll through texts--you might as well give it the official party invite.

Game of Phones turns your trusty cellular companion into the subject of a scavenger hunt between you and your friends. Just gather your friends and their smart phones (sorry, flip phone users, you're not invited), draw a prompt card, and see who can use their phones the fastest to create an emoji masterpiece, show off the last photo you took, or find the weirdest Google Image result for your name. Collect the most points to win. Only the fastest and funniest will survive. Made in China.

I played this with my brother, my dad, and his girlfriend. It's a really fun game that's easy to take along for traveling, but my brother and I had an unfair advantage given that we had a lot more apps on our phones. A lot of the cards involve drawing things, which my dad and his girlfriend needed to download certain apps to use. This would have been helpful to know beforehand because there were a few rounds where they couldn't even compete because they were too busy downloading apps to complete the challenges. Now that they've got the apps, I'm sure that it'll be easier and more fun to play next time.

It's a really great way for people who may not be the most technologically savvy to get to know their phones and cool things that they can do with them.

What we thought would be a super fun game is an ok game. Maybe it is because we don't have zillions of apps- but many cards we couldn't play. I would have thought this would be ideal for young teens but only certain cards are. Perhaps the manufacturer can come up with a kid friendly version. Not as fun as expected.

Comments about UncommonGoods Game of Phones:

Our only problem with this game is that we live in a rural area where our only internet is satellite provided. It couldn't handle that many people being on the internet at one time, so we weren't able to utilize many of the cards. Nothing wrong with the game, just not really made for anyone living outside a suburban area.

Although my son plays board and card games, I could see he was getting less interested in playing. I bought game of phones as my 12 year loves his phone but I wanted family time still - this is the best of both worlds, having fun together and using technology!

My daughter is on a travel team. Many times we sit in hotel rooms between games resting. They all sit on their phones. This gave them an opportunity to be on phones plus interact. They even had fun!!

Comments about UncommonGoods Game of Phones:

This is a great game for anyone who has a phone/iPod touch (my 11 year old played along with her iPod). My nieces and nephews sat around with my kids for over an hour enjoying this game. Kids tend to be in their phones, anyway, this is great because they combine their love of their phone with actually interacting with each other. I highly recommend it. We will be taking this along to all of our holiday gatherings!
