German brothers Vincent and Leon Horst began their careers as a chemist and an aerospace engineer, respectively. But in their spare time, they experimented with a shared passion: creating gin-making kits. Fast forward a bit, and their onetime hobby is now their full-time job. Working with a small team in their office in Berlin, the duo design easy-to-use kits with wood chips, spices, and botanicals for mixology enthusiasts to craft their very own gin and whiskey.

Nice idea, but poor execution
The concept is great and makes for a nice gift, but it was very disappointing. Even when ingredients were measured precisely following the directions, it did not all fit in the bottle provided. The spice mixes smell great, but the large chunks got stuck in the funnel, and were nearly impossible to get into the small bottle neck. The final product was just ok. I really wanted to love this, but it was a disappointment.

Bought these for my folks who love espresso martinis but didn't know where to start with making them. This made it super easy and the flavors were delicious! If anything, I wish there was a way to order more of one flavor because we love the cinnamon so much. Great gift!
