What Makes It Uncommon

Visual artist and metalsmith Cat McCadden provides all the instructions and tools you need to design your own sterling silver creation.

  • Start your ring-making journey with Cat's 45-minute online instructional video that lets you pause, rewind, and view at your own pace.
  • Use the included equipment (ring sizer, tealight, carving tools, finger cover, and sandpaper) to shape your jewelry wax ring.
  • Once finished, you’ll place your carved wax creation into the enclosed return envelope to ship it directly to Cat’s studio.
  • Cat will cast your wax work of art into metal and then finish it to your matte or shiny specifications.
  • Three to four weeks later, you will receive the final product: your customized ring design transformed into stunning 925 sterling silver.
  • Handmade by Cat McCadden in Washington—and you.

Growing up on the New Jersey shore, Cat McCadden was always inspired by the places where land meets water. When she began designing jewelry, she poured her love of the coast into her work. After moving to Seattle, Cat began teaching classes to share the creativity of jewelry-making with others. "I love the tactile process of holding raw material and imagining its final form in metal," she says, adding, "Guiding others through the creation of their very own heritage object is an absolute honor."

Items that are made to order or oversized can't be sent in a Gift Bag. Instead, you can include your Gift Message on the shipment's packing slip.  At this time, this item cannot be shipped to APO/FPO addresses, P.O.
