Nice idea but cheap quality.
I bought this kit to pass the time on the plane. The hoop broke when I tried to tighten it. Additionally, pieces of yarn were tied together to give the appearance of a single piece of yarn. There's also nothing to seal the thread so that you can keep your progress when you're done. I was also confused because I thought you worked on "the back" side because it's the flat part. The loops should be the face.

Cute, but needs improvements
I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband- I loved the idea of it and I enjoy the kit, however there is not NEAR enough yarn for this project. I have run out of 3 of the colors (so I guess I'll just go to the store and buy more/try to match the color??). I have been making small stitches, but I didn't even consider that there would be this little extra yarn that I would run out. Several other people have complained about the punch needle itself- my needle stays in place, however the plastic holder that it's in has a bit of plastic that sticks out and has frayed yarn in a few places while punching. None of this is a big deal, but it's annoying.

Fun Craft to Learn
Wow! I think I am addicted to punch needle. This is a craft that I have always wanted to try and have read about. This was a perfect project to start on. Lots of great instructions and tips to help create this cute pillow. The hardest part for me was threading the needle but once I actually followed the instructions, it was easy. Punch needle is fast and forgiving. If you make it mistake, you just pull out the thread and start again. I appreciated that I didn't have to do any finishing work ( like sewing) to complete this project. All I have to do is add a pillow! Beware the needle is sharp!

I would buy this kit again
I purchased this kit for myself. I am so pleased with the quality. The colors are so vivid. and the design is super cute! I have not done punch needle before and found the instructions very clear. The fabric is strong enough to hold all my stitches in place. I would purchase again.

Not the quality I expected
I purchased a number of these kits to make as Christmas gifts for family members. I am really glad that I bought them for myself and didn't give the kits as gifts because of the poor quality. The fabric is very coarse and unforgiving of any stitches made by mistakes. The fabric is easily cut by the needle bevel and that makes it impossible to restitch over the same area. The directions say to stitch adjacent to any holes made in error but the fabric is so coarse and easily damaged by the needle that is impossible. So frustrating! Everything else about the kit is great in terms of appearance and completeness of the components. The fabric is just such poor quality that it is impossible to work with. I'm going to try to salvage the kits by using embroidery thread with a fine needle instead of the yarn and punch needle that really destroys the fabric.

Cheap punch needle doesn't work
The kit appears easy to use but the punch needle is terrible quality-- the plastic dial wouldn't hold the needle in place and is unusable. The instructions could be better or a video would be excellent. Need to order a decent needle elsewhere to even try to use this.

how can you needle point this pillow, it does not fit on the needle point circle and the back of the pillow is not removable from the front. Therefore no way to needle point the front of pillow without needle going through the back of pillow
