"I tend to make things I like, things I'd like to have around me," says ceramist JoAnn Stratakos. Once the concept is in place, she uses her knowledge and expertise to guide each piece. In her Pocono Mountain studio, she creates one-of-a-kind glazes, giving her designs subtle variations and unique characteristics. The color and shapes are designed to complement, not compete. A great gift for good friends!
I purchased two "Next Door" cups; one for a friend who is moving to live closer to her son. She and I have shared yoga class for years and now she has moved to be nearer her son. The second one is for a dear friend whom I lived next door to for many years. I am planning to see her near the end of this month after a long stay away from here and living with her son while she recovered 🙁 from cancer. When we were neighbors we would walk and talk every night. I have missed her and I felt the cup would be a loving reminder that I miss and care for her.

I bought a second one!
I loved this mug from the first time I saw it, put off buying because of the price, but the more I looked at it the more I realized it was well worth the cost. It was absolutely my favorite mug, the only one I used. Alas, after about two years it was broken in a freak accident. I was so distraught I wouldn't let anyone help me pick up the pieces. And I immediately ordered another one! This is a good sized mug, the tulip shape is wonderful, the houses perfect. And the message.. I wholeheartedly recommend this mug!
