Shaped like a classic galleon, this unique kite offers a little physics lesson with every flight: Ships' sails work on the same principle as airplanes' wings, propelling both along on the wind. Each kite is handmade by Balinese artisans from nylon and locally sourced bamboo. They're designed to soar, but also make eye-catching decor in between flights. Handmade in Bali.

Like many New Yorkers, Emily Fischer didn?t start out there. She grew up in a small town in rural Wisconsin and studied architecture at the University of Michigan, earning numerous academic honors and awards. After working as an architect in New York City, she eventually launched her own design business. Her work ranges from large ship-shaped kites to quilts featuring coastal shorelines. At the heart of each project is a sense of playfulness that feels both timeless and boundless.
