During lifetimes spent around New England's forests and seacoast, Arra David and Anne Johnson have become masters of bringing the outdoors in. Stone, sun, wind, rain, and waves provide their raw materials. Arra and Anne transform them into well-designed, innovative works of handmade art with the help of a group of dedicated artisans they lovingly call "rockers." "We work together as a closely knit family," says Arra. "We all put our hearts, brains, muscles, and fingertips into everything we build." They use ethically forested wood, and replace each stone gathered from the water with a quarry rock that will eventually become another worn beauty.

Absolutely love this product

Must have for your kitchen!
This is the perfect design and keeps my kitchen sponge ready but doesn't take up a ton of space. The stones go great with my white/green kitchen, but would go well with pretty much any color, including wood cabinets. Plus, sponges dry out quicker!

I hated that my sponges didn't have a 'place.' Just putting them on the counter was unsightly and I had to change my (sometimes pricey) sponges often because they never really dried out in between dish washings. This is perfect. It's easy, it doesn't seem to get dirty or grimy (it's been in place for some time now), and it is just so eclectic and unique! When I saw this online, I had to have it, and I'm so glad that I do now. The only thing about it is my husband and I disagree on the exact spot it should sit on the counter near the sink 😊- but we came to compromise. It's where I want it to be.

A stylish and practical gift
A gave this as a gift to my newlywed friends and they loved it! It's beautiful with neutral coloring, does a good job of holding a sponge, and is easy to clean. Has a nice weight to it so you don't have to worry about knocking it off, and the base isn't too big so it can fit in tighter spaces or shallower counters.

This sponge holder is so cute. Everybody who comes to our house comments on how interesting and pretty it is. And the colors of the stones fit in with any color scheme in your kitchen. It makes me happy to see it every time I do the dishes. It also keeps the sponge dry and clean. I've had it for more than 7 years and it still looks great. Recently, I bought a second one for my friend's housewarming party. She loved it!

What size (thickness) will this holder accommodate? The sponges I use are from Williams Sonoma and are approximately 1 1/4 " thick when wet.

The optimal sized sponge would be a approx 1" thick sponge, but given that sponges are flexible and can be compacted, a slightly larger sponge should be fine, too.
