Today, artisans Jacek Kalich and Weronika Kalich carry on that legacy—reimagining this classic shape as a cozy, multipurpose mug for modern life. Handmade from stoneware, this charming piece is perfect for a hearty cup of soup or stew, and also serves a generous mug of coffee or tea.

  • Each piece takes 12 days to create using centuries-old techniques, and passes through the hands of multiple artisans before it's hand-painted and signed.
  • Features charming artwork inspired by traditional Polish pottery motifs.

Husband and wife Jacek and Weronika Kalich hail from Boleslawiec, Poland, the epicenter of Polish pottery making and a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status. Jacek started the business in his garage with three artists but now employs 30. The process involves a sculptor creating a mold, hand-pouring clay, drying, smoothing, the first firing, cleaning, painting, glazing, a second firing, and packing. Each artisan meticulously handles a specific step before the pottery is shipped to America.
