Catherine Smith grew up in rural Pennsylvania and fell in love with clay at first touch during a high school art class. She refined her craft while earning a B.F.A. with Departmental Honors at Edinboro University and Thiel College and has been designing and creating fine stoneware pottery for more than 30 years.

Her work embodies classic, elegant lines and the idea of creating beautiful, functional ware that can be used everyday and enrich our lives. Her inspiration comes from nature and her family, including her Mother who set a wonderful example as a gifted Artist. Catherine currently lives and maintains a Studio in Hidden Valley, Nevada with her husband Bill and black lab Schiatzy.

Very good quality but also quite heavy

Very happy with the quality but quite heavy; I purchased for my wife but she likes to enjoy her popcorn on the couch and this is better sitting on a table. We will keep it but have not gotten the use out of it that I'd like. Perhaps this should have been obvious to me before I purchased. On bright side this is a nice enough bowl it can be a decorative piece

Great product.

Love the Popcorn Bowl!

Loved that the unpopped seeds from our microwave popcorn filtered out of the larger area we grabbed the popcorn from. The pottery is a good weight and I think would make a great gift idea to bundle with popcorn and seasoning.

Who knew I needed a luxury popcorn bowl?

This bowl was much prettier than I expected, is beautifully made and packed extraordinarily well to make the journey all the way to Canada. And no, I didn't get this for someone else, it was a gift for me, and I love it. So much so, I am afraid of breaking it (and my own heart in the process given the cost to replace it), so I'm treating it with kid gloves. Gotta love the touch of class it adds to movie nights!

Love the design

I do actually really love this item. However, if you use even a moderate amount of butter, I have found that it kind of acts as a seal between the colonel collector and the bowl. Also, not all of the kernels will fall through, but it still does a very good job of sifting most of them out of your popcorn

Quality product with practical use

Got this as a gift for my mom as she loves popcorn. She loves the blue color, it sifts the kernels as advertised, it's easy to clean, and doubles as a fruit bowl/decorative piece when not in use for popcorn. A tad heavy, but that is to be expected as it is a stoneware bowl.

Absolute winner - perfectly function and truly beautiful

Purchased for my popcorn-obsessed spouse for the holidays - if you make your own seasoned popcorn, you know that it's not just about the unpopped kernels; you also end up with a fair amount of seasoning/salt at the bottom of the bowl that then gets your fingers dusty and your last bits of popcorn overseasoned. This bowl completely solves both problems... and it is also absolutely beautiful. When I opened the package I was quite honestly shocked by how much nicer than expected this bowl is. The glaze color, the speckles, the weight - this bowl feels like a high-end hand thrown ceramic piece that would cost $$$. Spouse adores it; spouse's equally popcorn-obsessed parent grumbled about not having as nice a bowl. Little do they know it's a steal and they'll be getting one next holiday :)
