These adorable fluff balls are the brainchild of fiber artist Jackie Huang. He started creating felted creatures as toys for his newborn daughter, and it gradually grew into a passion. With this kit, he gives you all of the materials and tools you need to produce one of his creations for yourself.
Felting involves repeatedly piercing bundled wool with a special needle that binds the fibers together. The needle is sharp, so the kit is not intended for children under 12, but the process is not complicated, and the illustrated instructions make it easy for beginners. When you're finished, you'll have your very own, unique version of a palm-sized frog or owl. Kit assembled in the US.

CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

Cute and cuddly stuffed animals are even more adorable when they're DIY! Would you love to create an original owl or a funky frog?

The price is right and I like that the kit is designed for beginners in mind. I've been wanting to try felting, and these guys may just be my gateway. It doesn't hurt that they are beyond adorable, too.

Awesome! I'm an artist and a seamstress myself, and I have a HUGE passion for arts and crafts. Needle felting may be labor intensive, but it's really fun and the finished product is oh-so-cute! I've always wanted to try making little animal toys such as these. I would totally buy both! What a fun, simple, great idea!~*(*^_^*)*~

This looks like a quick little craft that wouldn't get half-way completed and stuffed in the closet. (Ummmm...not that I do that...) AND you get a cute little owl or frog!

Very cute- something to do with my daughter or give to one of her friends as a b-day gift. A bit too pricey for me to ever purchase though.

this is really adorable, but for me in particular, this is kind of kid-oriented and I'm not a parent. I think the dog would eventually get his maws on it...

The only thing I am bummed about is that this won't be available for Valentine's Day. Strange gift idea. I know.

My daughter actually purchased the frog kit at a craft festival this past year. She enjoyed doing the craft and the little guy came out adorable. She even made a mini frog. Would purchase again

Yes! I would buy this in a minute! (Assuming I had an extra $24 - I don't right now, as I am temporarily unemployed, but in general that price seems reasonable to me.)

Kit? Too small; hazard for small children; can't see any children wanting to put these together or get too excited if given one put together by an adult.

If I am going to make toys for kids, they are going to be more personal for this kind of money.

Too expensive, but if it was around $15, I would get it.

If directions are good enough, buyer could transfer concepts to all kinds of felting, an excellent activity. Price is fine. Is it designed so child can participate?

Glad you like the kit, Mary! Since the felting needle is sharp, the kit is intended for kids over 12.

Very charming and very clever. Love anything felted. This gives opportunity to family and friends to give something "hand made" with love. Good thinking on artist's part as seems very marketable.

March 06, 2012 09:55:02 PM

Omg my daughters would love this!

March 08, 2012 04:50:41 PM

Have been wanting to try my hand at felting so can't wait to get these when/if they become available.

Owls are a hot trend right now, as is felting. This product is an amazing introduction to felting that outputs an adorable owl! Wonderful idea!
