I love living in the Pacific Northwest (Bend, Oregon) for so many reasons; especially for our phenomenal choices of micro brews. Beer has become a big part of my life and I am excited that I have found a way to incorporate it into my art.

Each piece starts from a photograph of my beer glass and the interesting patterns created by the lacing (the foam that is left on your glass). I call it 'Beer Speak'.

In 2011 I was honored as a Top 10 Copper Circle Finalist in the Halstead Grant national competition, and in 2010 I was honored as a Top 5 Silver Circle Finalist as well. "Denise's silver jewelry is beautiful and unique," said competition judge Hilary Scott, "she has a great line of pieces that go with everything in a woman's wardrobe."

Denise Harrison submitted this beer-inspired piece in our Jewelry Design Challenge, and the silver necklace is now in the semi-finals! Does Denise have your vote?

LOVE! As a simultaneous beer and jewelery fan, this is a great marriage of two of my favorite things! My only question is if I get to order it by type of beer!

Lovely idea, but how big is it? Too hard to price without any context in size.

Tara - to answer your question on size. I make the pieces in a variety of sizes and shapes. The small, round pendants start at $85. They are 7/8" in diameter and come on a 2mm sterling silver bead chain. The necklace shown is 1 1/4" in diameter on a 17" handmade fine silver chain. Its' price is $275. Each piece is individually made and not from a mold so each one is unique and not an exact copy of another.

Great pieces. So original and unique. Love the idea and the stories behind the inspiration. Prices are reasonable and designer is open to ideas and thoughts for just the perfect piece.

Very interesting concept--I must say very creative! I'm not one to promote things that are associated with alcohol, however this is not blatant and in your face. It is in the eye of the beholder and what it means is relative. If the owner of this piece wants to share with someone who admires it, it is up to them. What really matters about this piece is it can mean several and very different things to whoever wears it. I like.

Very cool inspiration. "Beer speak" takes something relatable and raises it to the level of high art.

cool idea...I love finding design in the comes off as abstract art and I would imagine each piece is different. I think the price is a smidge high though.

Chain seems out-of-proportion to the pendant, try something with smaller links.

I think someone has had a bit too much of those beers!
