City Life

Dave Marcoullier is a nature-loving guy--he's a landscaper and a certified arborist. He also happens to live in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District, and he has discovered how to combine his loves of nature and city life in his extraordinary wooden skyline panels.

Each panel captures a select cityscape in dark hued, solid walnut. Marcoullier drafts the designs digitally then mills each city's iconic skyline into the wood with a router. Finally, he sands and stains each piece by hand. The areas representing the city retain the unaltered color of the wood, while the darker areas of the sky overhead are achieved with wash of natural teak oil stain. A hole is pierced in the back of each panel for easy mounting. Handcrafted from sustainably harvested wood in San Francisco, California. Click here to see all available city skylines.

Dave Marcoullier is a certified arborist and landscape designer living in San Francisco's Mission District, and much of his work is an extension of these two disciplines. His work is comprised of CNC routed solid hardwood wall hangings and cheese boards. He derives color variations and contrast by treating some areas with natural oil, while leaving other areas of wood untouched. As no two wood grains are the same, each and every piece is unique. Dave takes pride in selecting only the finest grains, and orienting color, direction and striation to best compliment the context of the design.
