Curtis Dionne's appreciation for the ocean comes naturally: He spent years on commercial vessels in Canada's Bay of Fundy, famous for strong tides and rich marine life. But his real passion was always for glass, and in 2008, he used his mariner's earnings to build a traditional wood-fired furnace and launch a glassblowing business. Curtis and his family now live near Saint John in New Brunswick province, where his studio/gallery is on the city's waterfront?a union of his love for glass and the sea.
