I would def buy again to gift
Bought this to use in my bedroom to help inform me of the weather. The little guy is pretty spot on. The water level rises and lowers as described. Pretty awesome! I look over at my desk every day in awe at how much it's moved or not moved.

Such an incredible gift!
I purchased this as a gift for my husband, who loves all things science and weather-related. Truth be told, I love it so much myself, that it's a gift for me too! The swan is beautiful, and if you follow the directions exactly, it works amazingly well. I am someone who gets headaches from time to time when there are severe changes in the barometric pressure, and this beautiful work of art is more accurate that the local weathermen, and helps me prepare a little better. All in all, a great gift, and one I will consider for other people I need to buy gifts for in the future!

Love this product
My father, like many dads out there, loves to track the weather. He has all sorts of gadgets and gauges to make sure he knows better The Weather Channel. This is the least tech oriented item he has, but the most fun. He named the swan, Barry (for barometric pressure) and he loves to text Barry's water is rising, a storm is coming! And Barry has been correct so far. A great gift for anyone who loves to know and predict the weather.

This swan can sit handsomely inside your home. The borosilicate glass allows for extreme temperatures so it can sit outside, but having it inside allows you to see the changes in barometric pressure to forecast weather conditions 8-12 hours in advance!

My water is getting gross, Is there a specific amount of vinegar that I should use when I replace my mixture?

The maker recommends 2 parts vinegar to 1 part food coloring, then add 120ml / 4 oz. of water.

The diameter of the base is more of an elliptical shape. The longest diameter is 2 inches and the shortest is 1 inch.

How long does this last - does the water eventually evaporate?

Hello! You'll add the water once the swan is received. It comes with black food dye (but you can use your own!) and a syringe/tubing to add it all. If you need to add more water at any point, you can add it with the included syringe.

Yes, you can use any food dye! Just add some vinegar to prevent algae growth.

The exact ratio of water to vinegar to food coloring is included with the instructions. Barometric pressure will allow the water levels of the swan to rise or fall indicating weather changes.
