Water Pebble

$10.00

Get Your Feet Wet

Just a stone's throw from "Simply genius," this patent-pending, palm-sized pebble takes the guesswork out of water conservation by tracking how much water you use in your shower. Inspired by a hotel sign prompting guests to "please use water sparingly," inventor Paul Priestman hatched a useful way to put the plea into action.

How it works
Once you've programmed this pebble, it signals a yellow light at your half-shower mark and flashes red when it's time to turn off the faucet.

The real genius
This pebble incrementally shortens its suggested stop time, training you over weeks to use water wisely. Have fun with your timer by turning it into a clean game of race-against-the-pebble!

To program your pebble
Click the restart button on its base, then place it near your shower drain. It measures your water usage on the first try and flashes future finishing times against this benchmark, reducing suggested stop times by 5-7 seconds each shower. Polypropylene. Made in Hong Kong. Lasts 1 million blinks.

Much smaller than I imagined

Bought for a gift exchange for the kids...the recipient was not happy. I think this was a neat idea and I guess myself and only one other adult who was entertained by the fact there was such a invention out of the entire gathering of about 15-18 people felt this way. The child will be unable to use this due to the item being too small for their bathroom shower drain. Their bathroom is a older house and would not work since it would fall into the drain and water would surround it not go past it as designed. I had this in mind but again I was under the impression for some reason this would be the size of a Whoppie cushion by viewing the picture for some reason. As far as use I can not rate since it was unable to be used. Out of all the children the one that got it I imagined would have be humored by it and while the other kids were glad he got it and not them, he was not happy as he got it either.

not enough explanation of how it works

I am disappointed that there isn't clear instructions with the product. I have to look it up online as the packaging suggests. Used it once but not sure it is "programmed"? I think it will work but don't want to go searching for how to make it work.

pretty nifty if you aren't conscientious

I discovered that by the basis of this product, I don't run a long shower. I had a little trouble to start it, I kept trying to press it but it starts on it's own. The problem is our shower is not like a reagular shower head, it is hand held and we are missing the drain cover. The water pebble gets stuck on the drain and backs up the water. But I think if we fix our drain that won't be a problem. A nifty way to get people concious of their shower usage.

This was a gift for my teenage son, who sometimes takes way too long showers. He likes to use it, and I can't wait to see if I see results in my water bill.

Great for Kids Too

Our seven year-old daughter was spending way too much time in the shower. The Water Pebble helps her know what time she has left. She takes it in with her when she starts her shower, and removes it when she is done. That would also be the only real flaw with the product - it is only for a single user. Shower duration for a little girl and her 6'7" daddy are two entirely different things.

very useful and easy to use

Use it everyday. Only thing is that I stop the shower when pitting soap on, it restarts after I open the shower. Not sure if there is a shutoff timeout.
