“I create stuff that brings a smile to people's faces...and I think good art should make you smile.”

What would metalsmith Fred Conlon be if he weren't an artist? "I can't imagine doing anything else," he says. Raised in Colorado, Fred now lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he makes witty garden sculptures out of reclaimed metal.

Cool garden monster

This is more interesting than your usual garden art! I wish it bent a little more easily - mine came with the mouth pointing straight up and I felt it needed to be angled for best effect. It was also difficult to screw the head into the stake. It's definitely heavy duty and is rusting quickly, which is probably normal.

Loved it!

I placed this Venus Fly Trap amongst my river rock in my patio landscaping. It is visible at a distance and adds a touch of whimsy to the existing d├ęcor. The entire piece is extremely well crafted. I adore the fly made out of a spark plug as well. It's magnetic so you can place it any where you want on the tongue. The tongue is bendable so I bent it to my liking. I absolutely LOVE this addition to my space.

The tongue moves!**

First off, super fast shipping! Second, I LOVE this. My mom is really into these "savage" type plants, so I think she will appreciate this gift. Also, a lot of comments mention that the tongue is straight instead of curved - it is INCREDIBLY easy to bend and manipulate. I almost didn't purchase this because of all the reviews saying the straight tongue giving it less character. You can bend it! I JUST unwrapped this and already have it curved and looking perfect, easy peasy. I'm really really pleased with everything about this site and product.

I bought this as a gift for my niece for her graduation from NYU Law School. She liked the sentiment expressed on the bracelet, and wore it every day as she studied for her Bar exam.
