Delicious Diagram

Thomas Both applies the principle of a Venn diagram to his cleverly captivating platter design, where two circular, glazed stoneware plates merge to form a shared serving space for the good stuff. Offer an irresistible presentation of three foods, like contrasting crudite and dip or hummus, with the main attraction at the tempting intersection. Made in Tucson, Arizona.

“Get engaged and excited about how people do things and pay attention, then work your way to a product idea you're excited about and other people love.”

After working for a few years as a mechanical engineer right out of college, Thomas Both felt the need to feed his right brain, and so he enrolled in design school at Stanford University and went on to teach at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design. When creating his ceramic pieces, no functional detail is left untested. “I work much more as a designer now than an engineer,” he says, “but both play a part.”

I appreciate the simplicity of this platter.

I was immediately attracted to the simplicity & creativity of this platter. I always serve appetizers and this works perfectly. Just two circles overlapping. Amazing! I just broke my first one and was so happy that Uncommon Goods still has this platter in stock. Another one is on its way.

It's a great size, I peeked at it before I wrapped it up. Would be great for veggies and dip.

Well designed for a large group

I chose to purchase this serving platter because I've frequently been frustrated by the small amount of dip my previous options are able to hold and was drawn to the larger capacity this serving piece has for both dips and items to be dipped. Who wants to have to man the dip bowl constantly! Plus I think the design is really neat.

My colleague loved this gift. She entertains frequently and has used it several times already. Was a bit larger than it looked in the catalog, but she assured me that makes it more useful.

Wish the center round was a bit smaller. It holds a bit to much dip for vegetables.
