Audrey Amara, and her husband Josh, had wanted to develop an edible nail polish ever since their independent oldest child wanted to start painting her nails by herself. Before kids, Audrey had never really paid attention to what was in nail polish. After looking into some options for her daughter, including nail polish marketed for kids, she still didn't feel like she had any polishes to choose from that she felt were safe for her child, because everything always ended up in her mouth. After months of experimenting in the kitchen and consulting with food and cosmetics safety experts, Audrey and Josh finally came up with a recipe for Kid Licks that they were satisfied with. Today they have four kids of their own who use their edible, organic nail polish.
