Reinventing the Wheel
Upcycling gets a whole new layer of meaning. Crafty couple Martha Bennington and Steve Connell work with an etching company to put cast aside stainless steel flasks (because of typos, misspellings, or other minor flaws) to new use. They cover the flasks with recycled bicycle tires sourced from shops nearby, cut to fit seamlessly around each flask's shape. Next, they hand cut a stencil and paint on a minimalist bicycle design. The result is a unique piece that'll wow any cyclist friend—who can also appreciate a good drink now and then. Handmade in Bradenton, Florida.
Due to the recycled and handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.
