A Concert From the Cloud

With so much of our music coming from "The Cloud," Richard Clarkson makes it a material connection in his sculptural statement piece. Add atmospheric ambience—plus an electrifying sound and light show—with his distinctive lamp and Bluetooth® speaker. It doesn't make thunder and lightning, but has its own astonishing effects: It streams your favorite playlists while LED lights inside the cumulus puff flash to the beat of your tunes. Cycle it through a rainbow of colors if you prefer a silent show, and use the remote control to change modes without summoning the weather gods. Individually or in a conversation-starting cloud bank, it's a distinctive multi-tasker that sounds great playing "Stormy Weather" or "Here Comes the Sun." Handmade in Brooklyn, New York.

New York

New Zealand native Richard Clarkson leads a Brooklyn-based design laboratory that conjures interactive cloud lamps (among other things). He and his team produce objects and installations that are stylistically minimal, materially honest, and sculptural to the core. Blurring the lines between art and design, they draw inspiration from both disciplines and from the vibrant culture of New York City.
