Whiskey, Distilled

Raise a glass to the finest liquid known to man--whiskey! Whether your preference is Irish or Scotch, bourbon or moonshine, you'll find it here on this spirited infographic which breaks down the varieties by region as well as age, malt and brand. All of that information is laser-engraved onto a handsome sheet of cherry plywood, accented with an engraved cork disk proclaiming that 200 varieties of whiskey are cataloged in the piece. The wooden textures accented with two steel bands evokes traditional whiskey cask, but does so with a warmth that looks at home over your bar or in your office. Comes framed in walnut and ready to hang. Handmade by Ben Gibson and Patrick Mulligan in Brooklyn, New York.

Ben Gibson and Patrick Mulligan strive to "connect the dots" by compiling complicated data sets on a given topic of interest and then devising a graphic way to display it beautifully. They met while working at a publishing company, where Ben was a designer and Patrick was an editor. Both collaborated with authors to bring ideas to the printed page, but they had yet to work on anything that was fully their own. Their independent products combine deep research with beautiful design to take the head-spinning data of today's world and transform it into something clean, elegant, and comprehensive.

Comments about UncommonGoods The Many Varieties of Whiskey Wood Engraving:

The gift arrived on time however it was broken - just needed some additional glue... a bit disappointing as i did not have time to send back for a new one... i fixed it myself and gave it to the recipient for x-mas. no indication that the back wooden frame holds were repaired. For the price of the item i would suggest better glue! otherwise gift was wonderful the person who is hard to shop for but appreciates unusual gifts.

        Nice product, but pricey

Comments about UncommonGoods The Many Varieties of Whiskey Wood Engraving:

There is a lot of information which is interesting, but the writing is very small. I like the metal parts to give it that cask look, plus it makes it look more masculine. It's a bit pricey.
