An Ear for the Exotic
Reminiscent of radiant agate and possessing the luster of glossy ivory, each droplet of this cascading earring set is carved from sustainable tagua, commonly referred to as "vegetable ivory" for its likeness in bulk and texture.
These eye-catching accessories were born from a collaboration between designers Tulianna and Alejandra Garces in Vermont, and artisans in rural villages in Colombia. The creation of tagua jewelry helps curb illegal elephant poaching, prevents deforestation, and allows local communities to make a living from the harvesting, carving, and dyeing of the seeds. Featuring a trail of tagua beads, these candy-colored earrings add a pop of color to any ensemble. Handcrafted in Colombia.
